Get out there...........

There is just something special about the Summer.  A time to get out there and enjoy all that we have around us.  Yes, of course - we all have to work, but we certainly need to take time to have fun too.  It's all part of life.  Work hard, play hard.

This pic is a little mix of both working and playing.  Eric - as many of you know is a very capable shooter, stills and fishing and a lot lot in between.  He has a passion for the outside and often charters boats taking people out to enjoy fishing and then not only is he the Captain, but he's a documenter of the experience.  He knows the angles, he captures the experience and the emotions.

What a great way to combine passions........work hard, play hard and enjoy life!

Hope ~ I speak for the trees..........

A sign of Summer, dare I say?  I'm hopeful.

Not hopeful for dandelions, but hopeful for days outside.  Days for shooting on locations locally and making some awesome things happen for clients where we don't necessarily need to travel.  Yes, of course, there will be plenty of days in the studio, that's a given......but days outside, anywhere are wonderful to me.  I feel blessed to be a part of this big blue marble.

Our WORLD is beautiful.  I love the beauty of nature and here we are, challenging our society to have the WORLD do it without the USA's support.  Well, that will not be me.  I stand and speak for the trees.........Unless someone like YOU cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.  It's not.  ~  The Lorax.

So - enjoy our world and please, have a voice..........we always seem to find it to use in our industry anyway.  Now is the time.  Celebrate and save our beautiful world.

Basic to Beautiful

Annoying, yet beautiful too.

Crazy how the world runs sometimes, huh?  Our world and our industry are always seeming to test us, putting something in front of us and we need to figure out the why.  Why is something the way it is?  What is its purpose?  How is it really making a positive impact?

Basically, I have come down to the thought that there are many things in our lives that will try us.  Yet, perseverance in discovery is key.  So, something that initially may not seem beneficial, seems so basic - can offer so much.  Take the time to really understand the why.

Photography can seem very basic, yet there is so much that can be offered by each person, each eye, each approach and each relationship that can offer so much more than originally meets the eye.  A study of the basic can provide so much more.  The group of people that I choose to work with are all like that........we offer the basic and so much more.  More quality, more preparation, more support, more collaboration and more relationships..........we want each project to finish with everyone thinking about what's next.  Peeling away the expected and finding out there is so much more.

Holidays are coming! Can you get it done???

Why of course we can get it done!

Even though I love the holidays, there is a certain inherent pressure, mostly due to myself, but sometimes due to outside sources.  

How long is your list of "things to do?"  I am sure - pretty long.

Work, family, personal, kids, needs, wants and wishes.........it swirls all around you - each "area" needing just a little bit of your time.  That all adds up!

This assignment which was executed a while ago and was a SWIRL!  Funny, because when Holiday work is shooting in July - there still is that build up of pressure and I think some of that simply is like the needs of our business.  Hurry up, get it done, make sure it is perfect, find a good deal and it has to be on time!

This project was just that.  Quick, great quality, cost efficient and checked all of the boxes.  These are exactly the projects that we love to do.  Creative and needed.

If you are passionate, then you have found the key to being fulfilled.  If not, then you need to lasso that passion.





I came across a quote today by Gilda Radnor, "I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle and end.  Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next."


So, why does that tie to passion?  I say it does because you have to have something deep inside you that makes you tick for the right reason and keeps you going. 

Eric Kulin is a guy who is passionate.  He loves his family.  He loves to fish.  He loves to shoot.  He loves to enjoy life and to make things happen.  What an incredible zest for life and he does not know what's coming next, but he certainly enjoys himself along the way.

May we all be passionate, not knowing what is coming next, but embracing it and making the most of it!  Carpe' Diem!
